This is George's biographical information from last year's successful FECC campaign.

The person who has volunteered to represent the FECC is someone who I have come to rely on very strongly throughout the last year.  He has attended many meetings with me as we worked to educate ourselves about the issues in our neighborhood.

He has been my sounding board as we try to piece together the reality of the Flagler Estates Road and Water Control District predicament we all find ourselves in.  His calm manner and quiet intelligence have been an anchor for the FECC.  The year ahead will not be easy for our candidate. After all, unless the Board decides to resign due to improprieties, our candidate will be the odd man out.  The atmosphere may not be too welcoming for him. 

Our candidate is a life-long resident of St. John’s County who has worked in the medical field for many years. He has managed businesses and, as a former President of the St. Augustine Jaycees, has been trained and has served in leadership positions. Jaycees are a nationwide community service volunteer organization.  The Jaycee focus is on helping people develop leadership abilities in order to work effectively in their communities. The ending words of the Jaycee Creed are  “…and service to humanity is the best work of life.”

His current employer has been acquainted with our candidate for many years.  He states “ I have known George Nelson since he was president of the St. Augustine Jaycees where he exhibited leadership skills and service to the community.  He is presently employed at my office where he displays utmost professionalism to our patients. I feel he would be a great asset to the Flagler Estates Road and Water Control District Board and I give him my full endorsement.”

A former patient acknowledged that he could say nothing negative about George.  “ He is the most honest person I have ever met, and  always puts the needs of others before himself.”

Someone once told George that his problem is that, there is a very fine line between the white area and gray area and warned him about crossing over.  George’s response was  “There is no gray. There is right and there is wrong.”

There are a few other things he brings to the Board.  He is willing to serve voluntarily. MONEY IS NOT HIS MOTIVATION.

He also brings with him a very efficient and effective research team who are ready, willing and able to help with the Due Diligence that the current Board is currently NOT DOING.
