Dear Fellow Landowner,
Enclosed you will find a copy of our Proxy asking you to allow the landowners to vote your proxy on your behalf, if you have previously allowed us to vote on your behalf we have provided a self addressed stamped envelope. (Proxy voting explained on the back.)
Who Are We?……“Flagler Estates Concerned Citizens aka the FECC” is a non-profit 501C4 political organization formed “By the People for the People” in 2008. Our only goal is to keep our taxes low without causing detriment to our community.
The mission of FLAGLER ESTATES CONCERNED CITIZENS is to protect the rural flavor of Flagler Estates by forming a group of talented citizens to keep government involvement to a minimum, taxes low and the freedom of living in the country alive and well for the enjoyment of those who live here now and for the next generations to come.
Ø The FECC is fully funded by donation, the decreases in taxes from $325 in 2008, to $265 in 2009 ($60 decrease) and then to $230 ($35 decrease) per acre in 2010 progressively over the past 2.5 years we take full credit for. The Road Crew remains in tact, improvements are still taking place, our board is performing due diligence, and are responsive to their constituents.
Our platform prior to the 2010 election followed up with the action that has been taken by our elected board can be found on our website listed below, none of which would have happened without the FECC. Please take time to review it; if you do not have access to the Internet we will be happy to mail you a copy at your request.
Ø Again as has been for the past two years we only ask that you send us a donation of a book of stamps to help offset the cost of the mail out so that we may continue to reach out to other landowners and keep the power of the proxy where it belongs “with the people”. Donations are not tax deductible because we are political; we welcome and appreciate all donations but only ask for a book of stamps. If you intend to send your proxy back in the near future you may add the book of stamps and/or donation in the SASE or mail to FECC, 4215 Susan St. Hastings, FL 32145. We need stamps for this years mail out, the sooner the better. Thank you for your continued support, we could not do it without you! We also are happy to accept your email address to share information with you as it becomes available.
Our website is www.flaglerestatesconcernedcitizens.org our fax number is 386-585-8298.

Proxy Voting Explained:
A voter who is unable to cast their vote in person designates another authorized voter (any other landowner that has paid their taxes the previous year and has agreed to vote) or to do so on his behalf. Proxy voting is the method of election within the Flagler Estates Subdivision. This method of voting has not been in the best interest of the landowners of Flagler Estates thus came the “Flagler Estates Concerned Citizens or the FECC”. The Flagler Estates Road and Water Control District in the past has taken advantage of the proxy voting system in order to keep power.
Corporate Boards almost always use this system to their personal advantage to maintain their power. Normally only sitting board members are listed on the proxy; it is a way to discourage other voters or taxpayers from picking someone other than the sitting members and allows the Board to pick each other or whoever they prefer to have join them on the Board.
The elected board is elected to make decisions on behalf of and in the best interest of the landowners throughout the year, if decisions are being made that are not in our best interest the only recourse that we have as landowners is to vote them out at the yearly landowner meeting or in the very least have opportunity to, and determine if and how much the board will be compensated within the legal limits of the law. WE HOLD NO OTHER POWER on the other 364 days of the year leaving us solely at their mercy!
“We The People”
In 2008 we realized how vulnerable we were as a community and decided to make a stand by discouraging other landowners from signing the power of their votes over to sitting board members by reaching out to those that are not available to cast their votes in person. Over the past 2.5 years we have replaced two of the long-standing board members through power of the proxy votes that once ensured their longevity. “Absolute power corrupts absolutely”! While we trust those that we have elected, it is not in our best interest for any board members to ever have full power even when we elect them. We the people strongly encourage you to not give the power of your vote to those that hold those seats, now or in the future! It is our hope to be able to provide options for you to choose from that hold the same interest as yourself, OUR PROPERTY. Our future goal for the FECC is to share and educate our out of area landowner’s ways and methods to make an informed vote, via the local websites.
